CrowdSource For Life
Thousands of lives are lost every year due to kidney disease and failure. As the kidney deficit grows, it's no longer enough to simply mark yourself as a donor on a driver’s license. In CrowdSource For Life, experts such as Jayme Locke, M.D., discuss plans to revolutionize organ donations and eliminate the American kidney deficit through a single national Living Kidney Donor Registry.
At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jayme Locke, MD, is working on a single national Living Kidney Donor Registry. Maitri River Productions has taken the initiative to produce Art for Social Change, a massive multimedia awareness campaign aimed to populate the registry with enough donors to eliminate the 100,000 kidney deficit.
With plans kicking off in 2019, including a national CrowdSource for Life Tour scheduled for summer 2020, Maitri River Productions hopes you'll join them in this initiative. With these goals in mind, help us create change and save lives today.
- More than 100,000 Americans are waiting for kidney donation.
- More than 450,000 Americans survive kidney disease through dialysis.
- More than 8,000 Americans die each year waiting on a kidney donation.
- Only 3% of deceased organ donors are able to make an organ donation.
